Undergraduate Open Days

Our Open Days are the best way to get a taste of life at Sussex. You’ll learn more about our courses, have the opportunity to chat to current students and meet the academics you’ll be learning from.

On-campus Open Days: Saturday 7 October and Saturday 21 October

We’re delighted to be able to invite you to visit our campus and experience Sussex in person at one of our Undergraduate Open Days this year.

At an Open Day you can:

  • meet the academics you’ll be learning from to find out more about your subject of interest
  • talk to current students about life at Sussex and in Brighton
  • get practical advice from our expert staff to make your application to Sussex stand out
  • explore our beautiful campus on a guided tour and check out our facilities and accommodation options
  • attend a dedicated session for Mature Students.

The Open Day will run from 9am to 3.30pm. We will send you a programme of the day’s events in the weeks leading up to the Open Day to help you plan and prioritise the events that interest you the most.

Please note we are continuing to monitor the government guidance on Covid-19, therefore all upcoming events may be subject to social distancing restrictions.

Choose public transport and we’ll plant a tree

We’re delighted to team up with recent Sussex graduates Trees for Trips on our new Your Root to Sussex project.

As part of this project, and to support Sussex’s sustainability vision, Trees for Trips will plant you a tree if you travel to one of our Open Days this October by public transport.

How to get involved:

  • Book your place on an Open day below and select public transport on our booking form.
  • Make sure you tell us that you have arrived on the day by following the instructions in our reminder communications nearer the time.
  • Your tree will be planted in the surrounding Sussex target areas to increase biodiversity and Sussex water quality.

We’re planting 355 trees as a thank you to visitors who travelled to our campus by public transport at our Open Day on Saturday 3 June. The trees will be planted in surrounding Sussex target areas to increase biodiversity and Sussex water quality. This also means that together, these visitors avoided approximately 2490.33kg of CO2 emissions, simply by choosing to use public transport (estimated calculations made using The World Land Trust’s emission calculator).

We pride ourselves in our mission to become one of the most sustainable universities in the world. We’d love you to become part of our story by reducing your carbon emissions and your environmental impact when visiting us this October.
